The turkey burgers are good, but it’s the secret sauce that makes it special. Add BBQ potato chips and pickles on the side and you have a summer meal perfect for eating outside or next to an open window.
Ingredients
hamburger buns 1 pound ground turkey (I use 93% lean) 1 red onion 1 avocado 2 tablespoons mayo 2 tablespoons ketchup 1 teaspoon pickle juice paprika
Instructions
Shape four burgers, sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat in a frying pan until cooked through.
Thinly slice red onion and place in another frying pan with a splash of oil and a generous sprinkle of salt. Cook on medium heat until soft and gently caramelized.
Meanwhile, toast buns and slice an avocado.
Mix mayo and ketchup with pickle juice and a sprinkle of paprika for the secret sauce.
Place burger on bun, generously slather top half of bun with secret sauce and layer the onions and avocado on the turkey burger. Smoosh it all together and serve with potato chips, pickles and corn on the cob.
