A sweet, juicy mango is perfection on its own. But if you feel the need to jazz it up, this spicy, citrusy, salty mix does the trick.
I like to buy a bunch of Ataulfo mangos, cut them into thick slices, sprinkle this on and bring it to parties on a big plate with a fork. They are gone in minutes.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon ground chile (e.g., ancho or paprika) 1 tablespoon fresh lime zest 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt 2 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted and cut into slices
Instructions
Combine chile powder, lime zest and salt in a small bowl. Rub it between your fingers to release the lime flavor.
Sprinkle all over the mango slices and serve immediately, with extra on the side for people who like a heavy sprinkle.
